Our History

Having been in business since 1949, Harker Heating and Cooling has enjoyed servicing the area with a focus on customer service.  We are locally owned and operated company.  Over the years, Harker earned a reputation for excellent service and grew its residential and commercial divisions into one of Dane County’s most successful businesses. You might have even seen a few of our humorous commercials on television or heard our famous jingle on the radio!

Having so many talented HVAC specialists on board allows us to leverage their expertise to troubleshoot your heating and cooling problems and deliver integrity, solutions and the highest quality possible HVAC services in Madison we can provide.

Residential Installations Terms of Service: 

– Annual maintenance is required on all new equipment purchases.  Lack of maintenance can void your warranty.

– Permit is included – Customer is responsible for closing out with municipality.

– The pricing provided is valid for 30 days from the estimate date.

– Drywall, plaster, paint, framing, and/or siding repair are the responsibility of the homeowner.

– Maximum one marketing/advertised discount per transaction.  

– Attic type work to only be performed when ambient outdoor temperatures are less than 75 degrees. (if applicable)

– The owner is responsible to notify Harker Heating & Cooling if their home has historical significance. (if applicable)

– Condominium Association approval to be acquired by owner. (if applicable)

– Roof needs to be clear of snow and ice to install all necessary roof flashings. (if applicable)

– Existing household structure, materials, and surroundings play a role in the harmonics of HVAC systems.  

          – As such, any noise attributed to the home and it’s surroundings, will be the responsibility of the homeowner.  

          – Harker Heating & Cooling is not responsible for the performance, functionality, or compatibility of re-used items.

          – Seller is not responsible for existing line-set or existing gas piping.  

 – In the event that the system fails to operate properly, the Warranty will only cover the newly installed equipment, controls, or materials, as well as our workmanship.  If an existing piece of equipment prevents the proper start up or operation of the new equipment or system, Customer assumes all responsibility for any additional service charges that may be incurred.  

– Personal Property – Seller is not responsible for damage to Customer’s personal property left in or near the project area.

– Performance – Work to be performed during normal business hours of Monday-Friday 7:30am to 4:00pm, unless otherwise stated, arranged, or paid for.

– Change Orders – During the progress of the work under this Agreement, if Customer should order extra work not specified in the Agreement, Seller may require such extra work to be considered an agreement separate and aside from this Agreement and may require payment for said extra work in advance.

– Collections:  If amounts owing under this Agreement are not paid within seven (7) days, Customer agrees to pay a late charge on any outstanding balance at (1.5%) per month on the unpaid amount calculated from the date payment was due. Customer will be deemed to have accepted Seller’s performance as complete under this Agreement unless Customer notified Seller in writing otherwise within thirty (30) days of substantial completion. Should Seller retain the assistance of a third party, including without limitation an attorney, to assist with collection of unpaid amounts due and owing, Customer agrees to pay Seller’s costs associated therewith including without limitation reasonable attorneys’ fees, court costs, and interest at the maximum legal rate.

 

Residential Service Terms of Service: 

 Payment is due upon receipt.  A service fee will be charged for any returned checks, and a financing charge of 1.5% per month shall be applied for overdue amounts.

Scheduling was quick and Mark did a great job solving my problem. Fast, efficient, and a pleasure to have in my home.
My air conditioning system wasn’t working properly, like hardly at all. Tyler came out and assessed the problem initially expecting the bill to be about $600. He was able to solve the problem in a different fashion than he initially thought would be necessary, and the price went down to $400. I am very pleased with Ty’s work and with the efforts that he made to solve the problem without costing me a lot of money.

After a long day working on other accounts, Chris showed up around 5pm to a house that was 80 degrees due to the AC unit being out. Not only was he incredibly friendly, but he was able to quickly diagnose the issue, immediately fix our ac unit, and completed a full maintenance. Hands down best service we have received. Chris was such a pleasure to work with and we are so thankful for his work!
